New Editor: Round Two

I have worked with one well-known editor and it didn’t go so well. Fine. Whatever, let’s move one. I did a fair amount of research and I found editor who is kind of a rising star in the fantasy/science fiction world. But wait, you write horror right? Yes, I write horror. Luckily, he is really interested in horror.

I recently went to a conference and was able to sit down with him and discuss my project. And in less than four days I will be sending him my baby and letting him slap it into shape.

I will admit that I am a little nervous, but I hoping he will take my novel seriously since he knows an agent is waiting for my manuscript. I will also say, that this guy is charging me double what the first guy did, but this is part of the beast.

I did have to submit a five page sample to him and he actually had nice things to say, which is always… well nice. But he didn’t like my use of ;’s. I have no idea why I use them all the time, but I am going through my book and changing them out.

Today to help my timeline, I would edit for thirty minutes and then clean for ten. I did that of about four hours today. I feel like I’m in a good place, but I feel like I added things today that may or may not have redirected my book a bit. But that’s part of the reason I’m jumping at the chance to get my book to my editor because it is time to wrap this project up.
